The leader becomes unstoppable

The Grand Prix of the Czech Republic took place on August 2, 3 and 4. After three weeks off, the Repsol Honda team riders have played the tenth meeting of the season at the legendary Brno circuit.

During the free practice session on Friday the riders had the first contact with the asphalt and took the opportunity to configure their bikes. Marc Márquez tested a variety of options on his Honda while Stefan Bradl improved his time from 22nd to 14th.

Saturday's training session was led by the rain where Marc Márquez got the pole position after being the first to change his motorcycle to get dry tires and make two unstoppable laps. With this 58th pole of his career, Márquez equals Mick Doohan. On the other side of the box, Stefan Bradel managed to enter Q1 getting 17th position.

Sunday's race was delayed due to the wet conditions presented by some parts of the circuit. After delaying the start and shortening two laps, the Moto GP riders started a race in which Marc Márquez was the absolute leader, finishing with an advantage of more than two seconds. The current world champion found a constant rhythm that led him directly to the first step of the podium, increasing his advantage in the championship with 210 points, to 63 of the second classified, Andrea Dovizioso. Stefan Bradl did not have an easy career start but managed to advance and finish in 14th place getting score. The German driver will run again at the next appointment at the Austrian GP with the return of Jorge Lorenzo scheduled to return to Silverstone.

After finishing the Czech Republic GP, Honda increases its advantage in the Constructors' Championship to 39 points with a total of 216 points.

The next appointment will take place at the Red Bull Ring on August 9, 10 and 11.
